a beautiful setting - a 15th century manor and its artist designed gardens

since 1448, this manor house has been steeped in history and elegance. nestled in the heart of the french countryside, this beautifully preserved manor - officially listed on the inventory of historic monuments - offers a rare glimpse into centuries past. once the residence of an aristocratic family, the original manor and outbuildings have evolved from a medieval stronghold into a refined country retreat.

surrounding the manor is a garden unlike any other. designed in the spirit of english cottage gardens, these gardens are a living work of art. winding paths lead through themed spaces - rose gardens, orchards, and peony collections - all lovingly restored and reimagined by current owners with the guidance of versailles trained landscape architects.

a grand tree lined alleyway leads to a majestic square courtyard, where you’ll be welcomed by a sense of calm and timelessness. the restored français garden, replanted with over 1,000 iceberg roses, offers a daily spectacle of light, colour, and fragrance.

FAREWELLS to your new lifelong travel friends

invitation from lynn

Dear writers,

I am so thrilled to invite you along with me on a life-changing and utterly unique writing retreat in France, a country that has held my heart since I first moved to Versailles as a teenager.

The purposes of this retreat are twofold: to connect and to create. For five days, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in community alongside other writers at all stages of their journey. Between creative sessions, you will be able to reset, nourish, and refill your well through daily yoga, a wine-tasting event, and time to yourself to explore the historic manor and its lush gardens, which are in themselves a testament to spring and new beginnings.

As an educator, I want to make this an opportunity to learn, so all writers will have the option to submit their work to me for personalized feedback, as well as to read their work aloud during an in-person workshop. My dearest hope is for this writing retreat to extend beyond the five days we have together, and for the connections we form as critique partners, fellow creatives, and friends to last for a lifetime.

Sign up soon—spots are limited, and you won't want to miss this.

Warmly,
Lynn

Lynn D. Jung is a science fiction and fantasy writer. In addition to her writing, she is an educator and YouTuber who makes content documenting her journey through the traditional publishing process.

Her debut novel, 'Mothsblood,' is forthcoming from Bloomsbury in the US and Del Rey in the UK, and is slated to release in fall 2026. It follows an ambitious young alchemist as she navigates the changing landscape of her prestigious Parisian university in the wake of the headmistress' murder, which surfaces secrets that she'll do anything to keep buried.

Lynn's writing is often a blend of the fantastical and the very human, combining literary-leaning prose and character work with magic, ghosts, and monsters.

our last creative retreat - the creative writing retreat with emma gannon in tuscany

“The Tuscany retreat with Aweventurer completely exceeded my expectations. I'd never been on a creative/writing retreat before and wasn't sure if it was a going to be an expense I could justify. Within 24 hours of the group's coming together at an astonishing one-thousand-year-old restored Italian manor set in the heart of the lovely Tuscan countryside, with yoga each morning, delicious big vegetarian meals twice a day, stretches of writing and interesting conversations, and charming villages nearby, I was ready to sign up for the next one. Tara's quiet and meticulous attention was evident throughout. Two weeks later, I'm still in a glow!” - Kristen
