this retreat is a gentle invitation to slow down and enjoy life’s simplest joys, quiet mornings with coffee and a novel, afternoons stretched out in a lush garden by the pool, and evenings filled with laughter, good food, and easy conversation. whether you’re halfway through your ‘to be read’ pile or revisiting an old favourite, there’s space here to read at your own pace and simply be.
each day begins with yoga or a morning swim, followed by long, lingering brunches just steps from the mediterranean. you’ll stay in a beautiful 1920s mediterranean villa in the heart of cadaqués, only 30 metres from the sea, the perfect setting to unwind, reflect, and reconnect. as the sun sets, gather for dinner and informal book club chats, sharing thoughts, recommendations, and maybe even a few happy tears over the stories that move you most.

invitation from maya
Picture this. Waking up on a beautiful sunny day in a gorgeous villa in the most picturesque Spanish town of Cadaqués. A light breeze on your face, a book in hand, and you’re surrounded by other women, all with the same passion for getting lost in a book.
If that image at all excites you, then this reading retreat is perfect for you!
I would love to invite you to this book club abroad that feels like so much more than that. The first time I hosted a reading retreat, I had no idea what to expect. And frankly, I was terrified of the concept of traveling alone to a country I had never been before to meet women I had never met.
But just one hour into the retreat, all those worries disappeared. I bonded so quickly with the women around me, all in the same circumstance, connected by a simple question: “What’s your favorite book?” That question and that trip formed connections with women all over the world I would have never met without this retreat and connections I still cherish to this day.
Whether you have over 100 books on your TBR or are someone itching to find their love for reading again, this trip is open to readers of all levels! We’ll spend our time soaking up the sun with a book, resetting, and exploring the coastal town of Cadaqués that is straight out of a romance novel.
I’m beyond excited to meet you, make new connections, and experience another life-changing trip!
With love,
Maya <3
what our readers said
from the women who joined Maya’s reading retreat in Greece, May 2026
“I went on the reading retreat to Greece with Aweventurer with a group of wonderful people. My favorite parts of the trip were the boat ride and the yoga classes. The food was amazing, and I really appreciated the accommodation for my allergies. If you’re looking to travel but have no one to go with, I highly recommend booking with them.”

why a reading retreat?
in a world that moves too fast, a reading retreat offers something rare: space to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect—with yourself, with words, and with other women who feel the same pull toward quiet and meaning.
this retreat is designed to be restorative at its core. whether you’re craving stillness, looking to spark your creativity, or simply want to read without interruption, you’ll find room here to exhale. days are shaped gently around moments of solitude and togetherness—yoga and meditation, nourishing meals, and meaningful conversations sparked by the books we carry with us.
our reading retreat is designed to be super informal and relaxed — a true escape from pressure and expectation. if you prefer a more laid-back environment, you’re in the right place. there’s no obligation to share your thoughts or join group discussions unless you feel like it; you’re welcome to simply enjoy the space, the books, and the peaceful surroundings at your own pace.
for women who don’t always want to be “on,” who prefer softness over small talk and depth over distraction, this is a space to feel fully yourself. you’ll have the chance to meet like-minded women—introverts, creatives, deep feelers—and form quiet, genuine connections without pressure.
whether you're writing, resting, or simply reading by the pool, you'll return home feeling replenished, re-inspired, and more rooted in your inner voice.
Meet Your Host
Maya Beatriz is your internet bestie (if you’ll let her be, of course). Her journey on the internet began in her humble childhood bedroom, where she vividly read and acted out Wattpad fanfiction for a few subscribers on her channel. Now, over five years later, her small community has grown to over two hundred thousand people who resonate with her.
Whether they find her funny, comforting, or believe her endless yapping makes great background noise, people continue to show up for Maya. In turn, she strives to show up for them by sharing her authentic self and the life she lives.
Whether she’s (literally) kicking her feet and giggling over a book boyfriend, discussing the trials and tribulations of being an aspiring author, or just sharing the realities of life post-grad in your 20s in New York City. Whatever the adventure is, Maya is there to take you with her. Honestly, whether you asked her to or not.
